Perhaps you are here because you are finding life difficult, or you feel overwhelmed by negative thoughts, feelings or behaviours. Or perhaps relationship issues are causing you distress. Counselling offers ways to work through the many emotional or psychological issues that life can challenge us with.

From my peaceful practice in Tunbridge Wells or through online or telephone sessions, I provide counselling which can help you find your way through troubled periods and bring about real and positive change.

For individuals struggling with separation and divorce, I draw on my previous experience as a barrister to offer an additional coaching service focused on supporting you through the legal processes involved.

  • Counselling

Are you struggling with a problem or emotions that are getting in the way of your sense of well-being? If so, the opportunity to share and explore your thoughts and feelings with a professional can be very helpful. With warmth, understanding and insight, I help you talk about your life to discover why you might be feeling the way you do, explore who you are and look at how you can free yourself from feeling stuck so as to achieve real change.

  • Separation & Divorce Counselling

It is easy to be overwhelmed by the strength of emotions faced in the process of separation and divorce. You may be questioning whether your relationship is right for you, or facing an unwelcome decision thrust upon you by your partner. You may have already made up your mind about the future of your relationship but need support through the emotional and legal journey ahead. Wherever you are in the process, I provide one-to-one counselling at every stage.

  • Separation & Divorce Coaching

Separation and divorce can be a highly stressful time and one of the many challenges is that in the midst of the trauma, you face the pressures of the legal process. My separation and divorce coaching draws on my legal background as a barrister to help you prepare for and manage the practical and legal issues you will face along the way. The sessions help you to think clearly and make informed decisions based on what is right for you so that you feel more in control.

“Georgina’s empathy and understanding of my situation during my separation and divorce were a godsend. She helped me see the practical issues facing me in terms of my needs within the eyes of the law. She gave me the knowledge and clarity I needed to work with my solicitor. Her wise words when I just couldn’t see how to keep upright, and her genuine understanding of my pain and distress - all these things together helped get me through.”

FAQs

  • How to schedule an appointment?

You can contact me by phone on 07918 714352 or email me at georgina@middleton-counselling.com. I will respond to your enquiry within 24 hours.

  • Where are you based?

My practice is in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. As well as face-to-face counselling I also offer sessions online using Zoom or WhatsApp.

  • How long are the sessions?

Face-to-face, online and telephone counselling sessions are typically scheduled at the same time once per week and last for 50 minutes. My separation and divorce coaching sessions vary in length and are arranged as required.

  • How much does a session cost?

    Each counselling session costs £60.

My separation or divorce coaching sessions are charged at the rate of £80 per hour. The length of these sessions will depend upon your needs and may vary. Work done outside of sessions is charged at the rate of £70 per hour.

  • Is your separation and divorce coaching a form of legal advice?

No. The information and guidance provided in these sessions will prepare you for the legal process and may include legal information but not legal advice. It means you will be clear about what is needed from you at each stage of the legal process and you will have a clearer understanding of what lies ahead.

  • Does counselling work online and on the telephone?

In my experience, counselling online can offer the same benefits as face-to-face counselling. It is entirely up to you.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The course of therapy is unique to you. There are circumstances in which therapy is short-term and focused on a specific goal. For others, the course of therapy requires a deeper exploration and the goals are more far-reaching. I offer short-term and long-term counselling to suit your needs. These are discussed in your initial session and reviewed from time to time. The overall period of counselling depends on what is right for you. For example, separation and divorce counselling can help you from the very start of the process to beyond any legal proceedings.
